Oman Web Awards winners announced Times; Tuesday, March 11, 2008 12:05:09 AM Oman Time MUSCAT — TradeMax llc has won a Bronze  in the Third Oman Web Awards Competition held recently. The grand finale of the competition was held at InterContinental Hotel on March 9. The occasion was also attended by Sheikh Fadhil Al Harthy, undersecretary of Ministry of National Economy; Dr Salim Sultan Al Ruzaiqi, CEO, Information Technology Authority; Pierre Moukarzel, president of the Pan Arab Awards committee and government dignitaries among others. The registrations for this year’s competition closed with a record of over 170 participants in 23 different categories and the event is held under the auspices of Information Technology Authority (ITA). The sponsor of the Oman Web Awards 2007 was Omantel while The Wave, Muscat, was the co-presenter. The category sponsors were Oman Wastewater Services Company, Huawei Technology and Investment, Alargan Towell Investment Company and Omania e-Commerce. The support sponsors were A’Saffa Poultry Farms Company, National Life & General and Port Services Corporation. Pierre Moukarzel, president of the Pan Arab Awards Committee, welcomed the guests while Talal Al Rahbi, chief of Information and Awareness Division Unit; Information Technology Authority (ITA) spoke for the ITA. Abdullah Lootah, country manager, Microsoft Oman; Jawad Al Redha, co-chairman, Business Software Alliance (BSA); Nick Smith, CEO, The Wave; Sangeetha Sridhar, business content consultant at the ITA and a validator of the Oman Web Awards, also addressed the function.
